Kolkata: Road and rail blockade continued in different parts of West Bengal on Saturday and people opposed the amended Citizenship Act CAB.

Police said incidents of violence were reported from Murshidabad and North 24 Parganas districts and rural Howrah.
National Highway 34, one of the arterial roads connecting North and South Bengal, was blocked at Murshidabad. He said that many other roads in the district were also blocked.

Police said that in Domjur area of ​​Howrah district, National Highway 6 was blocked as protesters set fire to several vehicles and vandalized it.
He said that a huge police team has been sent to the spot to control the situation of CAB.
Train movement was halted in Sealdah-Hasanabad section of Eastern Railway.

A railway spokesperson said that the agitators are on strike from 6.25 am sitting on the tracks at Shondalia and Kakra Mirzapur stations of the section.
Opposition to the amended Citizenship Act CAB reached the shores of West Bengal on Friday, with agitators resorting to violence and arson at railway stations and demanding immediate repeal of the law.
